Jesus was characterized by giving. He gave of Himself every waking moment of every day it seems. If you take time to read Mark’s gospel, you will see that Jesus hardly stopped. He seldom got a break from giving of Himself. He is giving Himself for others over and over again. John recorded multiple miracles of Jesus in His gospel, but we only have the highlights of His ministry. We read in
John 21:25, “And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written.” Jesus was constantly working for the good of others.
If Jesus was characterized by giving of Himself for the good of others, then we must follow His example. We must give of ourselves, our time, talents, and treasures, for the good of others if we are to
obey the Great Commission. Take time to read Matthew 25:14-46. Think through both sections of this important text and determine to be the miracle for others by giving of your time, talents, and treasures to further the Kingdom of God. If we are willing to give of ourselves for the good of others, God will work in and through us to be the miracle that someone needs. After all, Jesus Himself said in John 14:12, “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.”
